Cerr Astiigos sat high upon a cliff overlooking the ocean, and the wind whipped around it with a severity that befit the very shape of the castle itself, for Astiigos was no mild palace, and no manor-house; it was a true castle, fortified and heavy on the earth, as strong as any army it had been built to withstand. Its gothic silhouette towered, toothed against the heavens, and looked, by any crude guess, like a dark cathedral. Like one of monstrous form erected for some unknown, monstrous god. Here it sat, waiting, with deviance in its form, in the way it crawled down to the forest’s edge in tangled meter, constrained only by a deep wall of rag-stone and rubble. A scholar running from his past. A lord of an ancient, sea-side castle. A secret buried deep within. The Lord of Astiigos is a queer tale of gothic horror.
